Hello Solo sailors.

I very much enjoyed building my first solo 5046, but I have learned much from the original  build and from the knowledge from others. so I have decided to have another go and hopefully I can make some improvements.

I have a few ideas regarding the construction process that I am going to change from the original plans. 5046 weighed a few kilos over the minimum weight so I need to be able to build a lighter boat, but not compramise on Hull stiffness. I have decided to build a boat without the main chine stringers aft of the main bulkhead. Also I am going to build the boat with the main Hog running to the back of the centreboard case only. The rear of the solo is fairly flat aft of the rear of the case so there really is no need for a Hog. I am also going to fit the case "in to " the Hog rather than having the case sitting on top of the Hog.

5046 was also built with plenty of rocker. It goes very well in light to medium airs but not so good in a blow. In marginal planning conditions the boat really seems to struggle against the faster shapes.

So the new Hull is built with a  flatter rocker and a deeper bulkhead. This should give me a finer entry angle.

keeping the bow deep I am also hoping to get a more stable boat on the run by moving the boyancy further foreward.
